I thought it would be fun to join in, though I’m not that good at limiting my days to just one sentence. Places to Visit: Middleham Castle, North Yorkshire

placestovisit2We are big ones in our family for making the most of the holidays and, with half-term coming up next week, the discussions have already started about what we are going to do and where we are going to go (with my daughter pushing for the seaside, because who doesn’t want to paddle and eat ice-cream in the freezing cold?).  It got me thinking about what we’d done last year, and how a lot of them are wonderful places that aren’t always first on a tourist to do list but are really worth a visit. My Sunday Photo: Whitby on a cold but sunny-ish day

I don’t need it to be summer to go to the seaside. I love to go any time of year, rain or shine or when the clouds start to roll in. My favourite seaside town is Whitby and we go there a lot. This is my favourite view from up near St. Hilda’s church.
