Getting Organised: Keeping Paperwork Under Control

1647.jpgWhen I was doing the #minsgame challenge last month, I found myself shredding for days, getting rid of paperwork that went back to my first job offer over 30 years ago.  It’s paperwork I will never need again but which I was afraid to throw out, just in case.
It was pretty obvious I wouldn’t need a 30 year old job offer but with other documents, credit card statements for example, I just wasn’t so sure. So, I headed to the internet to figure out just what I needed to keep and how long I needed to keep it for.
By the end, I had a great list that now has pride of place on my office noticeboard and, since then, I’ve found myself referring to it often.  My inbox has never been so empty.  Because it was helpful for me, I thought others might find it useful too (at least others in the UK at least). So, yesterday, we sat down in between watching England play football and decided what we wanted to do.  We’ve come up with eight things, which I’ll write about as we do them (if I find the time).  I’ll be honest, some of them are already planned, but are still things that we’re looking forward to… Continue reading “My Summer Fun List”

Going Green: Part One – Natural Household Cleaners (updated)

Scroll down to my goals to see how I did…
One of the things I’ve been trying really hard to do this year is live in a more environmentally friendly way.  It’s something I’ve written about already in how to I’ve cut my energy bill and my food waste but something I haven’t really got a plan of action for if that makes sense?  I tend to do things that are better for the planet as the mood strikes me, though once I start I also tend to stick at it and an idea becomes a habit.  Continue reading “Going Green: Part One – Natural Household Cleaners (updated)”
