I don’t need it to be summer to go to the seaside. I love to go any time of year, rain or shine or when the clouds start to roll in. My favourite seaside town is Whitby and we go there a lot. This is my favourite view from up near St. Hilda’s church.
“This is to my mind the nicest spot in Whitby, for it lies right over the town, and has a full view of the harbour and all up the bay to where the headland called Kettleness stretches out to sea.” — Bram Stoker, Dracula

Gorgeous calming view, I’ve never visited Whitby…I think I need to
Thank you for linking up
Thank you – I am biased but I’d say visit x
Beautiful blues
Thank you x
What a lovely view. I do envy people who live close enough to the sea to visit in winter
Isn’t it? I do feel lucky – 20 minutes and fish and chips are ours!
Lovely to see the sun over the sea, we saw it briefly this morning.
Any sun is welcome. Wish we’d seen some today!
Simply stunning – the blues & the clouds are literally perfection. There is something so calming about being by the sea #MySundayPhoto
Thank you. I love the sea. Determined to live by it one day. Though I’m only 20 minutes away now so can’t complain I guess!
Ahhh beautiful, beautiful Whitby we were there in October and have been many times and I do love it. Popping over from #MySundayPhoto
I can’t resist the place. So beautiful and fish and chips too!
That is such a beautiful scene! It looks so peaceful there x
It is. Though walking up 199 steps to get there you need a sit down!
This is absolutely beautiful. Hoping to visit Whitby this summer!
Isn’t it. Hope you enjoy your visit. It’s such a great family visit.
Such a gorgeous view. We stood at this point last year when we visited – this photo has made me all excited for our return visit in March #MySundayPhoto
It’s a perfect place to look down on the town isn’t it? Enjoy your next visit x
Lovely photo with such a poetic caption. Thanks for sharing…the sea always brings me peace and joy.
Thank you. I plan on retiring here and just spending my days staring at the waves x
My late mum’s favourite and mine too. Also good to be reminded of Kettleness where we walked in our earlier days of our relationship when life seemed full of hope. #MySundayPhoto
It is the most gorgeous place and the view. I have so many fond memories of it and can’t stop going back.
Love the natural blues in this photo. #MySundayPhoto
