So I’ve put this post down as a tried and tested but it could just as easily be listed under favourite things because that’s what the LAQA & Co Cheeky Lip Pencils are.
After getting a full sized version of their Cray Cray colour through Birchbox at least a year if not longer ago and finding it the perfect colour for my cheeks (though not my lips), I went to order another as soon as it was done. Unfortunately, the individual product wasn’t in stock so I had to order the trio.
Why I’m saying unfortunate I’m not quite sure as I’ve ended up loving all three colours from the deep red of Mixtape to the lighter pink of Humble Brag, which is a great every day where to work colour. Mixtape works well on lips and cheeks colour-wise for me, whereas Humble Brag is more for the lips.
The fact that I can use them for both is one of the things I love about them. It’s nice to have the versatility and, when I was travelling for work, it often meant one less product to remember to take with me (a big plus when rushing for a train at 5 in the morning).
The product itself looks good in a gold casing (though I think this might have changed since I last bought them), goes on smoothly and lasts if not all day, most of it. The colours are matte, which I like but I have glossed them up a bit by adding some lipbalm on top and the colour still stays. Unlike other matte lipsticks, they don’t dry out my lips, a huge plus for me.
Overall then for me, these are a big hit. Here’s why…
- Gorgeous packaging
- Reasonably priced (around £12 each)
- Goes on smoothly, lasts all day
- Nice texture / no stickiness
- Don’t dry out my lips
- Hard to find in the UK
- Not all shades work for me on lips and cheeks
Other than that, I have nothing to complain about. Like I said, these are a favourite product and I highly recommend them. Have you used them – what did you think?
